9.2. Backing up and Restoring Manager Configuration Files

The Red Hat Storage Console stores customized configurations as configuration files. These files contain specific configuration details of a given environment, and must also be backed up if a recovery is to be performed.

9.2.1. Red Hat Storage Console Configuration Files Requiring Backup

/etc/jbossas/jbossas.conf Configuration file for JBoss Application Server.
/etc/rhsc/ Contains Red Hat Storage Console configuration files.
/etc/yum/pluginconf.d/versionlock.list Contains version information about currently installed Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization components.
/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ Security certificates provided by the Red Hat Storage Console to clients.
/usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/iptables.example An example of a correct iptables configuration that allows the communications required by the Red Hat Storage Console.
/usr/share/ovirt-engine/dbscripts/create_db.sh.log Log file from the creation of the rhsc database.
/usr/share/ovirt-engine/engine.ear/ovirtengine.war Configuration file for the Red Hat Storage Console Web Service.
/root/.pgpass Contains password information for the postgres and rhsc users.
/root/.rnd Random seed file, used to generate secure certificates.

When all of the files in Table 9.1, “Configuration files and directories requiring backup.” have been backed up, you will be able to recover the Red Hat Storage Console to a working state after an unforeseen event.
