8.2. Assigning the Host to an Existing Deployment Role

Adding a new host to your Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform environment requires assigning it to an existing deployment role. The installer builds the new host and then configures it to work within your environment.
This scenario demonstrates adding a new host to the Compute deployment role.

Procedure 8.2. Assigning Host to Compute Deployment Roles

  1. Click OpenStack InstallerDeployments.
  2. Click the name of the deployment to which to assign hosts to open the details page for that deployment.
  3. In the Deployment Roles section, click + for the Compute deployment role to display the Unassigned Hosts for use in that deployment role.
  4. Select the check box for the host in the Free Hosts section.
  5. Click Assign Hosts to assign the new host to the selected deployment role.
