Deploying OpenStack: Proof-of-Concept Environments (PackStack)

This guide covers the basic getting started tasks for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform 5. The deployment method described here uses PackStack for proof of concept deployments, and is not meant for production environments.

PackStack can be used for single node, proof-of-concept deployments. On such deployments, you can use the Dashboard to load disk images, create a network, launch instances, or perform other basic OpenStack tasks.
