13.5. Pool Filling

The number of connections in the pool is controlled by the pool sizes.

<min-pool-size/>: New connections are created when the number of connections falls below the number specified.
<max-pool-size/>: The maximum number of connections.
<prefill/>: Supported only by OnePool or ByNothing pooling strategies.

Filling the thread pool is done by a separate PoolFiller thread to avoid blocking application threads.

Pool Filling to Minimum Pool Size

Connection pools are filled to their min-pool-size only on their first usage.
