Information on CVE-2024-7264 for RHEL 8

Hi Team,
Can someone please help me to understand the status of the CVE CVE-2024-7264 for RHEL 8 ?
I have been tracking this issue and seeing the status as Fix deferred for RHEL 8 and RHEL 9, what does that mean ? Where can I see the progress or status for RHEL 8 as my customer are waiting for the fix for RHEL 8 and I don't have any answer to share with them.
