I have Desktop Subscription and am in C++ Hell

Latest response

I have done my very best to get to where I can install the latest gcc that has C++. I am begining to learn C++ and need it for class.

I know that Fedora 12 is simular so I even tried to install the gcc with c++ for Fedora 12 after yum remove current gcc. Real huge headake.

I need a helpful suggestion of how I can, on a low budget, install the latest gcc when it requires the gcc I have, have c++ already.

Sincerly, Ernst Berg

Ernst,

Are are having a problem installing the c++ packages or you need a specific C++ version that isn't packaged with Red Hat?

What version of Red Hat are you using? and what version of C++ are you wanting to install?

Sounds like you might need Workstation instead of Desktop. Desktop is not designed, developed (or priced) to be used as a development platform AFAIK.
