kube_pod_status_phase metrics missing from openshift metrics query

have a sandbox openshift 4.16 system, used to report metrics for "container" and "kube" metrics via grafana integration and via "observe - metrics" on the GUI. Now not seeing those metrics at all. Basic metrics like "disk_free_bytes" available via grafana integration and metrics gui.

Had to generate new service account and auth token for access to thanos-querier from grafana, but this shouldn't have broken anything.

Have restarted deployment in openshift-logging for cluster-logging-operator. Are there any other points I can interrogate to find out where the breakage is here?
