Ekiga SIP VOIP program finds no devices

I am unsure of asking this here but it seems there was a bug related to this, at least from what I can tell by searching for a solution to the problem of Ekiga not finding any devices.

I only found a reference to servers and SIP when I searched here.

How do I correct the no devices problem with Ekiga?

I see a bugzilla here..https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=666256&GoAheadAndLogIn=1 With solution Status: CLOSED WONTFIX

Am I "SOL" or is there some workaround?

Perhap I should rephrase.

What is the reason for this issue? Security perhaps?

Hi Ernst,

Based on that BZ it looks like there's no current plans to address the issue, so the best course of action might be to open a support case with your request. I'll see if I can track down some more information for you.
