DHCP

Latest response

RHEV 3.0 states that the hypervisors support DHCP.

My question is, what happens if the IP of the hypervisor changes? Does it just inform the RHEV Manager of it's new ip? - I'm referring to the RHEVM network only of course - I assume it doesn't affect VM's running on board?  I'm assuming the RHEV manage doesn't flip out if it can't see the hypervisor if it has switched ip's?

If the IP address changes, hypervisor will go to non-responsive and you should have to remove and re-register it.

We recommend you configure the mac address of the hypervisor to be issued a static IP by the dhcp server or configure hypervisor using static IP.
