  • Reposync codeready-builder-for-rhel-9 painfully slow?

    Posted on

I'm reposync-ing a few repos for a local mirror and I've noticed that while I don't have many issues with baseos or appstream, the codeready-builder repos take forever to download.

OK, so the coreready-builder repo is twice the size of the appstream one, for example (182 GB at the last count), but it seems like the connection slows to a snails pace. Often I have to ctrl-c the reposync command and start again and the speed picks up again for a while.

    Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a reposync.conf file that can be tweaked?

I have seen an article about Satellite timing out where it suggests "Increase the default sync connection timeout from 300 to 3600 seconds", but I'm not using Satellite and surely it's just reposync under the hood?

    Thanks!
