Hello, I initially had Windows 10 Pro with VMware Work Station 16 Pro.
I am learning Linux and was able to start Redhat 8.4 via VMware Work Station 16 Pro.

Before upgrading to Windows 11 pro (have Windows 10 pro), my VMware Work Station Pro 16 was working fine with 10 pro, now i am getting this error messages whenever I tried to start Redhat 8.4 : "Errors during downloading metadata for repository 'epel-modular':
- Curl error (6): Couldn't resolve host name for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=epel-modular-8&arch=x86_64&infra=$infra&content=$contentdir [Could not resolve host: mirrors.fedoraproject.org]."

Does anybody know of any problem with Windows 11 Pro with VMware Work Station 16 Pro/Redhat?

Please see attachment.

Would appreciate any help resolving this issue.

Thanks very much,
David

Hello David,

it looks like you rhel-vm is offline or at least has no properly configured dns-settings. Can you ping a host? (e.g.: Terminal -> ping redhat.com). If not, then check the vm-network-settings (adapter should be bridged or nattet). Please also check if dhcp is enabled on you rhel networkadapter.

Hello Sascha Gruen But if requirement rhel-vm must offline so how to resolve this problem. Thank you

Hi Bình Lê,

We often use wget to recursively grab a copy of EPEL and then present it to the systems that are "offline" as required.

Grabbing individual rpms may work, but sometimes individual rpms have dependencies that you may need.
