List\Create VMware Snapshots using Linux Guest OS

Hello,
I am trying to find a way for users that manage Linux Guest OS vm's to manage listing, creating, and consolidating vmware snapshots from within the Linux Guest OS.

I am new to using Linux, so just need some guidance in seeing if that is possible.

Greatly appreciate anyone's time and pointing in the right direction.
