RHEL VMs on VMware show wrong OS

Latest response

New to Satellite here, and fairly new to RHEL. Solaris/VMware admin learning Linuxworld.

In the list of VMs under the corresponding VMware Compute Resource, several RHEL VMs are listed with OS "VMware ESXi 6.5 or later" instead of "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (64-bit)".

The VM "vertexdev" was deployed onto VMware from Satellite, and shows the correct OS. "vertexqa" was cloned from "vertexdev" using VMware cloning. After I read some more, in order to make prod VM "vertex8db," I cloned it to "vertex-no-reg," deleted registration info, cloned that to "vertex8db."

I have associated the cloned VMs with the hosts represented in Satellite, and this got the VM facts to show up in the host definitions. But here in the compute resource, they still show VMware as the OS, not RHEL.

First of all, is this going to cause me any future problems with maintaining hosts? Second, how do I fix it?vertex VMs in compute resource DC_VMwarevertex VMs in compute resource DC_VMware
