RHEL 6 yum offline update gives 404 error

Latest response

I am following the offline update procedure at:
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/45956

when running step 4, I get a file not found error for a repomd.xml file. I can run a regular "yum update" and the system updates, so I don't think it is a registration or connectivity issue.

Any advice or ideas is appreciated. Thanks!

solved my own issue - I skipped a part of step 3 and didn't run the "tar xf..." command before running step 4. Thanks.
