Security: Browser extensions yes or not?

Hi everyone, do you think it could be useful to install an extension on Firefox like Bitdefender Trafficlight or for the purpose of system security it is useless to install an antivirus?
If it is useful to install this or any other extension, would you know how to show me good and reliable?
