Latest response

Hi everyone:

After installing RHEL8 on the laptop DELL Inspiron 5447, I have detected a series of problems, one of them is that I have been looking for a solution to find and install the drivers of the video card that has this model according to the command lspci is: 03: 00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD / ATI] Topaz XT [Radeon R7 M260 / M265 / M340 / M360 / M440 / M445], any suggestions ??

I look forward to your experience.

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

The graphics adapter most probably needs the xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu drivers, which currently are not available in the repos.
As a workaround you can try if downloading and manually installing the drivers from the fedora project solves the problem.
Here is the download link -> xorg-x11-drv-amdgpu-19.0.1-1.fc30.x86_64.rpm ... Reboot your system after the installation. :)

Hi Oscar,

In case the suggestion in my first response does not work properly : uninstall the drivers, reboot the system and install the
proprietary AMD Radeon™ Software for Linux® Driver for RHEL 8.0 / CentOS 8.0 ... Reboot the system afterwards again.
Not sure if these drivers are explicitly compatible with the AMD Radeon Mobile graphics adapters, so just check it out ... :)
