Failed to get gcc information on Rhel 8.0

hi any one please help me
while I am trying to run #vmware-modconfig --console --install-all
getting error
Failed to get gcc information
but I have already install gcc
[root@myrhel8 source]# gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 8.2.1 20180905 (Red Hat 8.2.1-3)
