Is there any screen recorder package available in RHEL 8?

Latest response

I want to record my screen but I can't find simplescreenrecorder or any other.

Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this?

Thank you

Hi Miguel,

You can install Peek (simple screen recorder) as a flatpak ... :)

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub

flatpak install flathub com.uploadedlobster.peek

Hey Chris,

You have just made my day :D :D I was trying to install Musescore guitar tabs but it was causing issues. Just installed with flatpak very easily :D :D

Thank you so much :D

You're welcome, Kawsar ! Glad you could achieve what you wanted. :)

Thank you for your help. I already installed Peek as you commented, however I get this message when I try to record as MPG4:

Gtk-Message: 12:24:19.703: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 12:24:19.883: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
Using screen recorder backend gnome-shell
Failed to initialize recorder: Could not start recording, already an active recording using org.gnome.Shell.Screencast?

Hi Miguel,

I have no idea ... it can be "this and that" ... eventually you need some additional codecs ?
Flatpak applications come with all dependencies needed to run the application included.
If you need mp4 codecs, you may consider installing them from the RPM Fusion repo. :)
