Share filesystem with snapsots

Hi all,
I am wondering how do I share (via NFS) a filesystem which has snapshots (made via snapper). Is it supported?
To me, it looks like:
- make local filesystem (be it ext4 or xfs), no brainer
- need snapshots? No problem, use LVM and snapper, it's supported
- want to export it (including the snapshots) via NFS? Well, it only works if you have BTRFS which is not supported. Phew... :-(
