Post installation monitor / functionality woes

Latest response

Brand new to Red Hat / linux language, so apologies if the answer is painfully obvious to the experienced.

I installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux (DVD iso) from a USB 3.0 with "in Server with GUI" selected. When the computer boots and Red Hat is launched, the screen is screwy with no functionality (pic attached). Moving the curser is akin to a paint brush. Then, after more reboots, the monitor doesn't respond at all, (in bios it's fine).

Is this a graphics card (driver) issue possibly? An older Monitor? Connection through HDMI? (1 port on machine only) Bios internal display set to IGFX?

New build, intended for Maya:
GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS ELITE LGA 1151
GTX 1060 graphics card
Intel Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake 8-Core/16-Thread Processor
Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe PCI-E 2TB Solid State Drive
G.SKILL FORTIS Series 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 2400MHz CL15 Quad

Thanks kindly in advance for anyone with similar issue/resolution/insight
