SSL peer was not expecting a handshake message it received

Latest response

I got error in RHEL 7.3 vm node in virtualbox when run:

yum update -y

it hit SSL peer error on some packages like below sample,

compute1: Upgrade 352 Packages
compute1:
compute1: Total download size: 380 M
compute1: Downloading packages:
compute1: Delta RPMs disabled because /usr/bin/applydeltarpm not installed.
compute1: https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/server/7/7Server/x86_64/os/Packages/gzip-1.5-10.el7.x86_64.rpm: [Errno 14] curl#35 - "SSL peer was not expecting a handshake message it received."
compute1: Trying other mirror.

but it is not issue if install package manually:

yum install gzip

RHEL7 repo looks ok,

yum repolist

Have you tried to clear the yum cache files and then run update? If not tried, then try to clear cache :

rm -fr /var/cache/yum/*
yum clean all

After this run 'yum repolist' and check if that helps.

did cache clean still same.

it seems related to Internet speed or network, when I changed to different env for example in office, then no issue to do yum update.

Okay, that could be the cause. Good that you identified the cause for the trouble and resolved it.
