It also yields for RHEL 6.10

Great, our users will benefit from many new advanced features and way better performance. :)

thanks for this information :)

You're welcome ! :)

Just out of Curiosity, do you prefare Firefox over Chrome. If So, why.

:)

Hi Promise,

Well, mainly because Firefox is fully open source and because of privacy reasons of course.
Also, since version 60 (Quantum), Firefox caught up on Chrome regarding performance. :)

Christian

I encountered an issue soon after applying the firefox-60.1.0-4.el7_5.x86_64 update to my RHEL Client 7.5 install.

This new version of Firefox is apparently copying all the langpack xpi files from the /usr/lib64/firefox/distribution/extensions directory to the extensions/ directory in the user profile. This increases the size of the profile directory in ~/.mozilla/firefox by approximately 51 MB.

As it happens, I was using the new Firefox on a user account with multiple browser profiles and low disk space on the /home partition. The partition was quickly filled to capacity with repeated copies of the langpack xpi files, despite the fact that identical files are already available in /usr/lib64.

I then tested this with a fresh default profile, and observed the same result, so it doesn't appear to be due to my local browser configuration.

I'll continue my attempts to resolve this issue.

"This feature can be disabled by setting the extensions.installDistroAddons preference to false."

Adding this preference to my browser profile also fixed the Firefox HTTP_ACCEPT headers, which contained en-GB when my OS was set to en-US.
