pkgs.org is not a repository, it is a search engine covering many repositories across many distributions.

The page you have linked to is all the repositories which pkgs.org knows about for the CentOS distribution.

If you click on a repo in that list, it will show you the contents of the repo as pkgs.org sees it. These are what the website uses for search results.

If you want to add a third-party repo to your RHEL or CentOS system, then visit the page for the repo, usually they have some instructions. We have some instructions here on the customer portal too, for example:

Hi Jamie,

Let me add another widely used 3rd party repository : RPM Fusion

Christian

Also, the "Third Party Repositories" section of Available Repositories for CentOS has a list of 3rd party repos with useful notes that largely apply to RHEL.

is it safe to add the below Centos Repo on my RHEL 7, or i will break my RHEL

[centos]
name=CentOS $releasever - $basearch
baseurl=http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/centos/7/os/$basearch/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

No, please don't do that ... this would create much confusion and a lot of conflicts with the Red Hat repositories ! :)

Christian

I wish i would have posted this much earlier. I added way before, did an update, reboot my PC, and boot loader missing. lol ive just had to reinstall redhat. What a learning curve.

Hey, you only learn things by trying out something ... but reading some stuff before helps ! :D :D :D

Cheers :)
