Need httpd version 2.4.10 Redhat 7.4 for secure web socket

Latest response

httpd version 2.4.10 has a crucial update/bugfix which allows secure web socket (wss) to be used in reverse proxy mode. This is not possible in version 2.4.6, which is the newest currently available as far is a know.
Package httpd-2.4.6-67.el7_4.6.x86_64 a

So when will 2.4.10 be available ?
This is a showstopper for us, when migrating to a new build scheduler.
This is for
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 7.4 (Maipo)

RHEL doesn't work that way. We may rebase to 2.4.10 at some point. or we may never rebase and keep adding patches to 2.4.6-x. You need to think less in version numbers and more in specific features. See here: After an upstream project has released a newer version of a package when will the package on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system be updated to this version?

So, if you can identify the specific patch set which adds this to upstream Apache, then we can look into whether this is already in the RHEL package or if it can be added to the RHEL package.

Alternately, open a support case and our webservers specialists can look into that for you.

Hello, Well the solution was easy just add RHCSL to our satelite https://access.redhat.com/solutions/445713#fn:1 The latest RHSCL 3.0 : based on upstream httpd 2.4.27 Now we have 2.4.27 Regards /Anders

Interetingly, I've using WSS reverse proxying with my 2.4.6 apache service since January of 2016 (you need the functionality for an HTML5-based access-proxy service I deploy). In other words, the patched functionality has been present in the stock HTTPD for rather a while ...with no need to resort to SCL.

Sometimes, the "easy" solution is to just try to use a feature and not assume that because an RPM has a certain name it doesn't contain the desired functionality.
