Installing Resilient Storage
I'm trying to install Resilient Storage on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.9. I've enabled the rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-eus-rpms repo.
When I run yum groupinstall "Resilient Storage", I get the following error:
Error: Package: lvm2-cluster-2.02.118-3.el6_7.4.x86_64 (rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-eus-rpms)
Requires: lvm2 = 2.02.118-3.el6_7.4
Installed: lvm2-2.02.143-12.el6.x86_64 (@rhel-6-server-rpms)
lvm2 = 2.02.143-12.el6
I've tried running yum downgrade on lvm2-2.02.143-12.el6.x86_64, but that just leads to a chain of other errors. Is there another repo that has an updated version of lvm2-cluster or some way for it to accept the newer version of lvm2?
Responses
For installing packages from "Resilient Storage" group, you would need to enable "rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-rpms" repo channel, please enable this and then trigger the "yum install" command, that should work.
Hi Carl,
Sadashiva is pointing to the mismatch: rhel-6-server-rpms (current repo for standard packages) and rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-eus-rpms (extended update support repo for Resilient Storage).
You have to chose:
1) rhel-6-server-rpms and rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-rpms (you stay current with OS and storage rpms)
2) rhel-6-server-eus-rpms and rhel-rs-for-rhel-6-server-eus-rpms (you can only patch the minor release that is installed on the server)
If your application or use case allows, I advise option 1).
If you are building a new cluster I would advise to go for a RHEL 7.4 based solution.

Jan Gerrit
its not working either
[root@fikc-oratc01n1 tmp]# subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-x86_64-server-rs-6 Error: rhel-x86_64-server-rs-6 is not a valid repository ID. Use --list option to see valid repositories.
Hello, I have the same problem with redhat 7 it is not possible to install yum groupinstall "Resilient Storage" and it is necessary for the active / active cluster, which I am configuring with GFS2. subscription-manager repos --enable=rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7 Error: 'rhel-x86_64-server-rs-7' does not match a valid repository ID. Use "subscription-manager repos --list" to see valid repositories.
Your help please
I could see that 'Resilient Storage rpms' are available from the repo channel 'rhel-rs-for-rhel-7-server-rpms' and standard server rpms are from 'rhel-7-server-rpms' channel. You could try cleaning up the local data by running the command "subscription-manager clean" and then run "subscription-manager list --enabled" to see the list of enabled repos, and if 'Resilient Storage' repo not enabled then enable it by running "subscription-manager --enable rhel-rs-for-rhel-7-server-rpms". Check if this helps.
Hello, By running the command subscription-manager list and subscription-manager list --enabled shows me the following: ] # subscription-manager list + ------------------------------------------- + Installed Product Status + ------------------------------------------- + Product Name: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Resilient Storage (for RHEL Server) Product ID: 90 Version: 7.4 Arch: x86_64 Status: Unknown Status Details: Starts: Ends:

How can I enable it if it does not leave me?
