Forcing package status update?

Latest response

Hi

I have a system registered to Satellite 6, which has errata to be applied. But in Satellite, it's state is fully patched, no errata missing. Checking locally with yum shows an outdated version.

Is there a way to push a status update from the client to the server, or to tell Satellite to update the state from the client?

Looks like I found another bug (v6.2.11). I took a second content host which had not all errata applied. I pushed a package install, and now this content host is displayed as 100% patched.

The question remains: how to synchronize the states - apart from updating on the client with "yum update", which still works.

Bengt,

I believe the command you are looking for is:

# katello-package-upload

This forces an upload of the client status to the server. There's also a more detailed version here with bonus material for extra goodness.

Thanks, removing package.json helped.

Deinstalling a package has the same effect. I removed a package locally with yum remove, and the errata count dropped again to 0.
