vdsm-hook-extra-ipv4-addrs hook

Latest response

Admin guide of RHEV 4.0 mentions vdsm-hook-extra-ipv4-addrs hook for assigning multiple IP addressess to a host network.
How can I achieve the same in RHEV 4.1?
I tried "yum install vdsm-hook-extra-ipv4-addrs" yum cannot find the package.
Thanks

I solved my problem by installing the rpm from the Fedora site. Anyway the "6.5.4. Assigning Additional IPv4 Addresses to a Host Network" section of the "4.1 Administration guide "says that "The package is available by default on Red Hat Virtualization Hosts but needs to be installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux hosts". But it was not available in my RHEV installation and I could not find the package in RHEV and RHEL repositories.

I've opened BZ#1458637 to update the 4.1 documentation. I'm also investigating whether there's another way to add multiple addresses in 4.1. I'll let you know what I find.

Update: Thanks for reporting this. It's actually a bug - the hook was supposed to be shipped in the RHV host repo, but seems to have been missed. I've moved the bug in my previous comment to the release engineering team so that it can be added to the repo ASAP.
