Trouble starting pvm

Latest response

I am running RHEL 7.3 workstation version. I downloaded and configured pvm according to the installation instructions provided with pvm package.

When i try to run pvm from the command line I get the following error message
libpvm [pid5841] /tmp/pvmd.1000: No such file or directory
libpvm [pid5841]: Console: Can't start pvmd

But when I tried to execute the command pvmd3 from the command line I get the following error message.

[pvmd pid5866] 05/29 21:37:31 mksocs() bind netsock: errno=99
[pvmd pid5866] 05/29 21:37:31 em=0x7f9deeb02880
[pvmd pid5866] 05/29 21:37:31 [43/

[pvmd pid5866] 05/29 21:37:31 mksocs() bind netsock: Cannot assign requested address
[pvmd pid5866] 05/29 21:37:31 pvmbailout(0)

Does anybody please explain to me what is going wrong ?

Did you google for "libpvm [pid5841] /tmp/pvmd.1000: No such file or directory" and look at http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-155853.html?

Siem, Thank you very much for directing me to the link. I was able to resolve the issue by making changes to /etc/hosts/ file as mentioned in the link.
