Latest response

I am from debian background.
When I install RHEL73 or 74beta, I don't see a list of sources in /etc/yum.repos.d
1) Is it normal?

I made my iso a source in /etc/yum.repos.d but still cant install packages suc as 'Development Tools' for which get an error/info message like below

[root@localhost marty]# yum grouinstall 'Development Tools'
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id, search-disabled-repos, subscription-
: manager
This system is registered with an entitlement server, but is not receiving updates. You can use subscription-manager to assign subscriptions.
No such command: grouinstall. Please use /usr/bin/yum --help
[root@localhost marty]#

can someone help?
TIA

Your RHEL server is registered but no subscriptions are attached. Attach a subscription then run this command.

yum groupinstall "Development Tools"

Hi Sam,

Just a little hint ... I think that it should be with quotes : yum groupinstall "Development Tools" - right ?

Cheers :)
Christian

Thanks Christian

It works with or without quotes but better to use quotes. I've updated my response :-)

Hi Ravi,

You asked the same (more or less) a few days ago -> https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3059271 ... and nothing changed since then. You'll have to attach subscription(s), right as Sam explained above and as I described in my reply to your earlier question. Also, the command yum grouinstall cannot work because of a typo you've made or copied from somewhere and pasted - the command is yum groupinstall. Then you asked it again -> https://access.redhat.com/discussions/3066851 ... I'm running out of ideas how to explain it better - I thought that everything was clear after our last discussion, in which I described it comprehensively once more. :)

Regards,
Christian
