Remote Execution with password Redhat Satellite

Latest response

Hi

I am curious about Can I do remote execution with passing password or not.
I have a ssh user in my environment and I will give sudo permission for that user. When I use ssh key everything works fine. But if I have a chance to login with password
it would be better for my environment.
Is there any configuration under /etc/foreman-proxy/settings.d/remote_execution_ssh.yml or somewhere else. Thank you for your help.

Hello

In the web UI, on the Hosts --> Operating System tab, you can set the hosts root password.

This Red Hat Bugzilla Bug 1327665 - Enable remote execution plugin by default during capsule installation says Remote Execution is enabled by default on a Satellite but not on a Capsule.

On a Capsule it says to use this installer option --enable-foreman-proxy-plugin-remote-execution-ssh to enable it.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your interest. I see my operating systems under operating systems tab and then when I enter one of my operating system, I only see major-minor version, architectures, root password hash algorithm etc... I dont see any text field about password.

Hello

Developer just told me the use of user name and password is not supported at the moment by the Remote Execution code. Sorry for the false hope.
