ISO Image Won't Boot in VMWare

Latest response

When I downloaded the image sat-6-isos--satellite-6-rhel-7-server-x86_64-2017-01-06T13.40-01; it won't boot when I try to boot to install it. Please advise what I should do. I did xfer the file from a MAC Book to a Windows PC, before connecting it to or loading it up to VMWare.

Thanks

This is a weird one, because I also downloaded RedHat 7.3 and it mounts and installs as expected.

The ISO that you've downloaded sat-6-isos--satellite-6-rhel-7-server-x86_64-2017-01-06T13.40-01; is a content ISO, and is usable only to import into a disconnected Satellite 6 installation.

Sorry Server Tech,

It is not weird. Satellite is an application on top of RHEL 7.3 in your case. You must install RHEL 7.3 first and then install Satellite 6.2 as an application. To compare it with Windows, you cannot boot a VM from a MS Office DVD or ISO either.
