yum update fails with ErrNo 14

Latest response

Hello all, I'm trying to update a RHEL 7.2 install for the first time, and I'm getting the subject error code. I've read through some of the suggested fixes, and they don't appear to be working. I've attempted clearing out the yum cache, and i've tried yum clean all.

System is registered through RHSM and is active. I've attempted to run yum update both at home and at work and get the same results.

If I click the URL provided, it takes me to the https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/client/7/7.2-7.el7/x86_64 page, where I am presented with ACCESS DENIED
You do not have permission to access "url" on this server.

Any hep would be greatly appreciated.

Tried re-registering the system with RHSM?

# subscription-manager unsubscribe
# subscription-manager unregister
# subscription-manager clean

# subscription-manager register --autosubscribe

I have tried, yes. Same result.

I have solved it. Sort of. STIGS require me to add repo_gpgcheck=1 to yum.conf. When I comment this out, it can contact the repo and get updates.

I don't yet know WHY this option causes it to fail, as it's a fresh install of RHEL7.2.

Thanks for sharing your fix.

A similar bug against Ansible repository for OpenStack was fixed. Enable repo GPG checks breaks yum in CentOS

Thanks. That worked perfectly. I spent two hours fighting this until I found your post.
