what subscriptions are need to dual boot rhel7.x and rhel6.x

Latest response

I need to test against RHEL 7.{1,2,3}, and RHEL6.{8,9} to prove performance comparability. Virtual machines are not an option. What is the correct setup for machine registration and subscription attachment?

Thanks.

Would it not be better having two separate systems to compare with? If dual-boot is preferred, still need a subscription for each OS.

You're right -- we will definitely need two machines, and I am in the process of acquiring the second one.

I need to test single-host and multi-host workloads against the full set of OS combinations (and SLES, SOLX86, Windows {2008, 2012, 2016}. Ideally, I'd have a lab full of machines, but the budget won't allow that. Instead, I'll be using two, 2-socket systems and boot the appropriate system images for any given test.

It sounds like I need to register the physical system(s), and then manage hostname and IP information so that the 5 different RHEL images are properly subscribed, and known to represent the same physical box.
