rsync smb share path not recognized

Latest response

I have a Redhat 6.7 server. I am trying to rsync a local folder with a folder on a SMB network share.
I'm not able to get rsync to recognize the path to the share.
How do I accomplish this?

I've only rsynced to SMB shares mounted on my local linux host.

rsync -av /opt/local_dir/ /mounted_smb/remote_dir/

See you can mount to that share first using the mount command.

Hello Mark,

I managed it the same way Chris explained. It would be the best to mount the smb share first, second run rsync and finally unmount the share.
