aspell 0.60 on Red hat enterprise Linux 7.3?

Latest response

I'm trying to run an old application on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.3 and it requires aspell. Is there an aspell version out there that will run with the new OS? I have not been able to find one that I can successfully install?

Thanks

aspell is available from the rhel-7-server-optional-rpms repo.

Thanks, that installed aspell. Can you tell me where the dictionary is for aspell? aspell-en doesn't seem to be in rhel-7-server-optional-rmps?

aspell-en is in the EPEL repository.

Also, did enable rhel-7-server-extras-rpms along with rhel-7-server-optional-rpms, that you suggested. when I do a yum search to see what is available here is all I see:

aspell-devel.i686 : Libraries and header files for Aspell development aspell-devel.x86_64 : Libraries and header files for Aspell development enchant-aspell.x86_64 : Integration with aspell for libenchant aspell.i686 : Spell checker aspell.x86_64 : Spell checker

None of these are the dictionaries?

Is there another EPEL repository I should enable? From what I read rhel-7-server-extras-rpms should be the extra package repository I needed?

EPEL is a third party repository. More details can be found here.

got it, thanks,
