Puppet Enterprise reference architecture

Posted on

Hi,

I'm trying to find the Reference Architecture for integrating Satellite 6 with Puppet Enterprise. There's a solution's brief that states a reference architecture will be released "mid-Fall 2015" here: https://access.redhat.com/articles/satellite-and-puppet-enterprise. There's also a KB article with status "solution in progress" stating to contact Redhat Support for details on the reference architecture here: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/2129421.

I opened a support ticket but was told no such reference architecture exists, and that the solutions brief is all there is. However, I just watched a session from the Redhat Summit 2016 where Rich Jerrido states that there is a reference architecture, at around the 51 minute mark of the "Migrating an existing Puppet deployment into Red Hat Satellite 6" session.

Does anyone know if there is in fact a reference architecture?

We're currently getting very little out of Satellite outside providing package repos and licenses, and I think integrating with our PE instance would help change that. The solutions brief seems light on detail to actually making integration happen, so I'm hoping for more information.

Thanks,
Ben
