  • Following the RH guide doesn't allow me to install apache on v.9

I'm trying to follow this guide exactly.

    https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_jboss_core_services/2.4.51/html/apache_http_server_installation_guide/index

However, when it tells me to "install into /opt", I assume I'm to unzip the archive into that directory. That seams to work fine. Though, I'm not sure extract = install. The next steps are to rename the ssl.conf.disabled to ssl.conf to enable it.

First, there are no config files in ~/conf.d that have the .disabled extension. The files there all have the .sample extension. Also, there is no httpd.conf file at all.

What am I missing? Has anyone used that guide successfully? Why, exactly, does RHEL 9 not use the RPM method of installing Apache anyway???

    Thanks!
