Red Hat 7: Stateless Linux

Latest response

Hello,

I'm trying to setup Stateless Linux by setting the variables READONLY and TEMPORARY_STATE to yes in file /etc/sysconfig/readonly-root. After rebooting there seems to be no indication that the root filesystem is mounted readonly or to RAM.

Here is some very old documentation but it doesn't seem to be helping:

Anyone have any luck getting Stateless Linux running this way, did you modify the initramfs with dracut or did you use some other method?

Thanks

Hi, i noticed the procedure to build a stateless server is different. If you've done a normal installation and then trying to change some parameters to make it stateless then it may not sync with procedure explained here:- Stateless Linux Tutorial

But the above page doesn't look to be a recently published.
