License issue

Latest response

Dear Sir/Madam

I purchased Red Hat Enterprise Linux 1-year Subscription from your website on septembre 5th, 2015
I could download version 7 and 6 and I installed version6.
Today I encounter system issues and I installed again version 6.7 on the same server.
When I issue the command yum and I got the following error, message

This system is not registered to Red Hat Subscription Management. You can use subscription-manager to register.

Could you help to resolve this issue ?

thank you in advance .

Dear Emile,

First of all, unless you have a specific reason for using RHEL 6, I'd suggest installing the latest version of RHEL. Currently, that's 7.2.

As for the system registration issue: Please, see the Quick Registration for RHEL guide, which describes how to register your system using both graphical and command-line tools. For a more detailed explanation of Subscription Manager usage, see the Using and Configuring Red Hat Subscription Manager guide.

By the way, there's no need to attach your subscription certificate to questions in this forum -- it's a community forum, and anybody can ask questions, regardless of their subscription status.

Hi Robert,

Thank you very much for you help. I used the following command and all is OK subscription-manager register --username --password --auto-attach

Best regards.

I've removed the attachment from this post as it is not needed.

Hi David,

My registration issue is resolved now. Thank you very much.

ANyone there?

Trying to download a license file with NO luck.

Hi Leon,

Unless you're facing exactly the same problem as the OP (Emile), I suggest you start a new forum thread -- it's better not to use a thread with an already resolved issue for an unrelated discussion.

In your new thread, please, include more details, such as:

  • What is it you're trying to do?
  • Is the tool you're using giving you any error messages?
