A question about RHEL repositories

Latest response

Dear members,

Please find below the list of enabled repositories in my RHEL7 workstation. May I know, is there any unwanted repositories enabled in my repolist?.

You have repositories for beta packages enabled. Unless you intend to test them, you really want to disable them. Also, look through other RHEL repos and disable any one you don't need.

Regarding 3rd party repos, you have ELRepo and EPEL. Both are useful and trustworthy repos, so this part is looking good.

Dear Akemi Yagi,

Thanks for the reply. Other than ELRepo and EPEL, all RHEL repos was by default active once I subscribed and installed RHEL 7. May I know how to find out which RHEL repos are unwanted once? Can I disable all the RHEL repos with beta tags?

Waiting fro you valuable reply

Many thanks
Aneesh

Hello

I think the opposite approach is better, disable everything and then just enable the ones you are sure you need.

To disable all existing repositories:

# subscription-manager repos --disable "*"

Then open the repository file in the /etc/yum.repos.d/ directory and enable the ones you need.
