Latest response

Hi,
I am newbie here,
I have a new AMD ARM project which code name is Seattle, CPU is Cortex A57.
I try to intall RHELSA 7.1 with Aspeed AST2400 VGA card installed,
During the installation process, system pops up an warning message taht "X startup failed, falling back to text mode",
so whole the installation process are under test mode.
Attached is the log info.
OS kernel is : 3.19.0-0.rc5.66.aa7a.aarch64

If I want to install OS under GUI mode, how do I do?
Please help~

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi,

To display the installation log, you need to press Ctrl + b followed by 3. See Consoles and Logging During the Installation for details.

You can also try to run the GUI installation using the universal VESA driver. To do this, pass the inst.xdriver=vesa parameter at boot. See Configuring the Installation System at the Boot Menu for instructions.

Hi Rober,

Thanks for your information,
I tried and not worked.
X still fail to start.
I talked to AMD that they said this may be cased by Aspeed driver.
So I will check with Aspeed for help.
If there is any inoformation, I wil update.

Best regards,
Ryan

Hi Rober,

Do you know how to install development tool "GCC" during installing RHELSA 7.1?
The default GCC tool is not installed.
And I am not able to install GCC via command "yum" because of network troubles.

Thanks,
Ryan
