When will scheduled updates be applied?

Latest response

In our RHN Customer Portal, in managing our servers under Classic Subscription Management I've scheduled bug fixes and security updates and they are all in "Pending" status. I can't seem to find any way to tell when they will actually be applied. It's been a while now... Is there a way to control what time the updates are actually applied to our boxes through the web interface?

Scheduled actions (package installs, updates/errata, or system reboots) in the "Classic" model are not "pushed out" to the clients; rather, they are placed in a queue to be picked up by a "client pull" process.

The "rhnsd" process on your servers is what performs this, and it does so at 4 hour intervals by default (set in /etc/sysconfig/rhn/rhnsd; the only value in that file on my systems is 'INTERVAL=240' (time between check-ins with the RHN Classic or Satellite 5.x server, in minutes)).
