What do I enter for "On the Network"?
Hello, I am trying to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 as a VM. While Installing, I get the error that Installation Source can't be found. I'm trying to use the Download ISO in my Downloads. After clicking on the Installation Source button I get to a page asking for a URL (On the Network.) What do I enter for the URL? Is there another way to use the ISO? I tried Mounting it but it still doesn't work. I have not burnt a DVD yet. What do I enter for the URL? Please respond. Thanks

Mike,
Which version of the RHEL ISO did you download? Are you using the RHEL 7.1 Binary DVD?
What size is the ISO file you are working with?
Mike,
It looks like you have the Boot ISO there. Under 'Downloads' for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, download the 'Binary DVD' image which will be 3.62GB

Hello, I just thought I'd add some additional information:
- The binary DVD (usually around 3.5 GB) contains everything you need to install a RHEL system - the installer as well as packages which can be installed.
- The boot.iso (usually about 350 MB) only contains the installer itselt, but not packages to be installed on the system. That means you will need an additional source of packages (the binary DVD).
The boot.iso is mostly useful for network installs. You can download the binary DVD, place it on a network location (a web server, FTP server or NFS share), and use the boot.iso to start the installation on the client. Then you can configure the installer to download packages from the server, and you don't have to start the installation from the large binary DVD. This saves time in some cases. If you're installing a single system, it's almost always better to just use the binary DVD for boot and installation.
You can find information about available downloads in the Installation Guide, and the procedures for creating a network server with RHEL packages are there as well.
