Satellite 6 and puppet module deployment from repo

Latest response

Hi, I've just created a puppet repo in a satellite 6 installation, created the proper content view and promoted that content. Now I cant see the modules in the satellite classes section nor in any other place. How must I do for seeeing and deploying those modules??

Hello,

  • Create a host-group
Click Configure->Host Groups
  • In the hostgroup choose the right Lifecycle Environment (The one you put the puppet module)
  • Assigne the content-source, Puppet CA, and PUppet Master
  • Click on Puppet Class tab, you should see the class there.
  • Add them by clicking on the small + beside their names.
  • Then assign this host-group to your target host.
Go on the "all hosts"
Search for your host, and edit
Add it to this host-group

Now on your host you can check if it is receiving the module

puppet agent --test --noop
