CloudForms worker direct mount LUN question

Latest response

Hi,

I'm installing CF on a RHEV Lab.

I've deployed UI/DB and a worker, but noticed that the docs mention the worker must direct mount the storage LUN in iSCSI/FC

is this really a requirement? It mentions RHEV 3.1, but I am using 3.4...

My colleague swears we don't - he has set it up on VMware and no you don't, but then RHEV is different than VMware...

There is a procedure it looks like to mount the LUN further down the doc under smartstate analysis on RHEVM 3.0

so I'm not sure if that's what I should be doing.

Any input on this appreciated as I am trying to use some quiet Thanksgiving time to move mo PoC forward!

Thanks!
Bill

Smart State analysis for RHEV Provider requires direct storage access. If you are using block storage domains (iSCSI/FC) it is necessary that you attach storage LUNs to cloudforms worker appliance that has "SmartProxy" and "SmartState Analysis" role enabled. It is per-requirement.
