  • using AAP to upgrade RHEL8.10 to 9.6 Prob with infra.leapp collecition

    Posted on

    We have a process in AAP that upgrades RHEL8 to RHEL9.
    Our Workflow template calls a template from project in AAP that uses the infra.leapp collection like so
    - name: infra.leapp
    version: "1.7.3" # Version range identifiers (default:

    *
    )
    source: https://galaxy.ansible.com

    One task seems to be written in a way that when we run the workflow the Execution Environment thinks it is unsafe.
    fatal: [alftest.grove.ad.uconn.edu]: FAILED! => {"msg": "The conditional check ''el9' in ansible_kernel' failed. The error was: Conditional is marked as unsafe, and cannot be evaluated."}

    I have tried to comment out that task, but it is ignored and keeps running it.
    Is there a way to force it to honor my changes ?

    This is the task i can't edit or comment out.

    - name: Validate running kernel matches OS version
      ansible.builtin.assert:
        that: "'el{{ rhel_dest_major_version }}' in ansible_kernel"
        fail_msg: Kernel version {{ ansible_kernel }} does not match expected OS major version el{{ rhel_dest_major_version }}.
        success_msg: Current kernel version is {{ ansible_kernel }}.
