RHCE validity extention 2026 new path RHCA
Hello everyone,
Can someone clearly explain how the validity extension works for the old RHCE v9 certification?
From what I understand, if someone already holds an RHCE, they must pass a specialist exam within the same certification track/specialty to extend its validity. Otherwise, they lose the RHCE status and would need to restart the certification path from the beginning.
Example:
A person has:
- RHCSA
- RHCE (Ansible track)
To become RHCA, they choose 3 additional certifications such as:
- EX467
- EX374
- EX457
- EX417
In this case, the RHCE remains valid because those exams belong to the same certification track.
However, if the person passes EX280 instead, does it NOT count toward extending the RHCE validity because it belongs to a different specialty/path?
I’d appreciate if someone could clarify this with official rules or practical examples.
