How can I keep a copy of RPM files downloaded by the software updater in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5?

By default, yum deletes the RPM files it downloads after it has installed them. To keep these RPM files, edit /etc/yum.conf and change:

keepcache=0

to:

keepcache=1

Now, yum will keep a copy of all the RPM files it downloads in /var/cache/yum.
