How do I let users with expired passwords change their passwords via SSH?

When logging in via SSH, a user with an expired password sees this:

$ ssh tester@localhost
tester@localhost's password:
You are required to change your password immediately (password aged)
Your password has expired, the session cannot proceed.
Connection to localhost closed.

A bug exists that prevents proper password expiration function in SSH with UserPriviledge...
