Can timeouts be increased or decreased on TCP sockets?
Sockets can have their keepalive idle times increased or decreased for sockets which have the SO_KEEPALIVE value set. This idle time (measured in seconds) can be temporarily set in the proc file /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_keepalive_time.
To keep the change permanent add a line to /etc/sysctl.conf similar to the following:
net.ipv4.tcp_ke...Subscriber exclusive content
